Dark Chocolate Mr. Crunch Bar Candy

A delightfully crunchy homemade candy that combines rich dark chocolate with crispy rice cereal and roasted peanuts. This recipe creates the perfect balance of textures and flavors for a satisfying sweet treat.

Ingredients

For the Base

  • 12 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa), chopped

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal

  • 1 cup roasted unsalted peanuts, roughly chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • Extra chopped peanuts for garnish

  • Flaky sea salt

  • Additional melted dark chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace

    1. Line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides

    2. Have all ingredients measured and ready to go

  2. Melt the Chocolate

    1. Add chocolate to a microwave safe bowl

    2. Heat chocolate in 30 second intervals

    3. Stir occasionally until completely melted and smooth

    4. Remove from microwave once melted

  3. Mix the Components

    1. In a large bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal and chopped peanuts

    2. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal mixture

    3. Gently fold everything together until evenly coated

    4. Add sea salt and stir to distribute

  4. Form the Candy

    1. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan

    2. Spread evenly with a spatula, pressing down gently

    3. If desired, sprinkle additional chopped peanuts and sea salt on top

    4. Drizzle with extra melted chocolate if using

  5. Set and Serve

    1. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until completely set

    2. Once set, lift from the pan using parchment paper

    3. Cut into squares or break into irregular chunks

    4. Store in an airtight container
